OVERVIEW

WaGiTECH Connect is an Edutech Club inclusivity initiative aimed at empowering 1,000 high school girls and 500 young women in tertiary institutions with skills in website development, blogging with WordPress, and awareness of emerging technologies. This initiative is a response to the low female participation—only 19%—in Edutech Club skilling programs over the past two years.The program will be delivered through hands-on training, motivational talks, and mentorship sessions led by industry professionals and peers. Activities will take place at the National ICT Innovation Hub, as well as in selected secondary schools and tertiary institutions across Kampala and neighboring districts.Launching on April 26th, 2025, WaGiTECH Connect aims to inspire and equip young women to explore and pursue exciting careers in technology.

Our Objectives

1. To skill at least 1,500 young women in digital and web-based technologies by the end of the program cycle.

2. To increase female participation in Edutech Club programs from 19% to 50% within two years.

3. To spark interest in tech careers through engaging, hands-on workshops and storytelling from female tech professionals.

4. To create a sustainable mentorship network between students and industry experts.

5. To promote digital inclusion and gender equity in tech education across secondary and tertiary institutions.

Launching on April 26th, 2025, this impactful program will train 1,000 high school girls and 500 young women in tertiary institutions in website development, WordPress blogging, and emerging technologies.
